INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ½ pounds flank steak
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 3 limes, juiced
- ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
- Whisk all marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Add steak to a glass or non-reactive baking tray. Pour marinade on.
- Ensure both sides of the steak are well coated. Cover the baking tray with plastic wrap. Marinate for 1-4 hours. (You can also marinate in a zip-close bag.)
- Heat FIREDISC® cooker on medium-high heat. Cook carne asada for 5-7 minutes on each side. Remove steak to a cutting board. Let rest for 5 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife, slice carne asada at an angle against the grain. Further chop the carne asada into smaller pieces, if desired.
