INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound asparagus
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- lemon wedges, optional
- Heat FIREDISC® cooker to medium heat. Bend each asparagus stalk about 2/3 of the way down until it breaks where the woody part begins. If desired, use a knife to trim the ends of stalks to tidy up cuts. Discard the ends.
- Place asparagus spears in a shallow bowl or on a platter or baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil. Toss spears with your hands to coat.
- Season with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Toss again. Place asparagus on FIREDISC®. Grill for 6 to 10 minutes or until spears are tender and crisp. Use Ultimate Tongs/Gripping Weapon to roll the spears for even grilling.
- Transfer to a platter, and, if desired, drizzle with more olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. Served warm or at room temperature.
